Pro Fitness Program

The Pro-Fitness Program™ is one of the most recognized and respected fitness programs in North America and we are excited to be able to say that Western is one of the few select clubs in the Midwest to offer this program to our members. The program has been developed over a 20-year period and has transformed the lives of thousands of health club members throughout the United States and Canada. In researching many different programs, we landed on the Pro-Fitness Program, because we believe that a system of pro-fitness, pro-education, pro-results, and pro-service is going to be of the greatest value to you and offer you the highest rate of success.

As part of The Pro-Fitness Program™, you will now have the opportunity to participate in our Fitness Consultation. The Fitness Consultation is one or a series of four 90-minute one-on-one appointments (performed every 90 days) with one of our professionally trained and certified Fitness Consultants. The wealth of information obtained from the consultation allows us to define your level of fitness and create a custom “fitness prescription” based on your specific goals.

Our Fitness Consultant will be able to prescribe you a recommended 12-, 24-, or 48-week personal training package with the opportunity to work with a trainer 1, 2, or 3 times each week, as well as follow-up consultations to assess how your program is working. We also will be offering flexible payment plans, so that you have the opportunity to get the most for you money and the best package for your situation!

Personal Trainer Bios

Kari Merrill, AFAA, NASM Certified Group Exercise Instructor

Kari has been in the Fitness Industry for over 12 years, obtaining her NASM Certification in 2008. Kari’s passion for motivating and inspiring others led her to a full-time position as Group Fitness Director at Western Racquet & Fitness Club in 2010.  Kari was the driving force behind creating the very successfull TRX program and Western remains the only dedicated studio in Green Bay with certified instructors teaching all of your classes. Kari values TEAM first and foremost and believes in creating a Group Fitness Program a “step above the rest.”  Kari holds certifications for AFAA, NASM, Insanity, and is also a Licensed Zumba Instructor.  Kari has completed the TRX Rip Training Course, TRX Suspension Training Course, and the TRX Group Training Course.  Kari’s drive and passion led her to win the 2012 EAS Group Fitness Instructor of the Year Impact Award.  Kari loves to integrate women into the weight room and help her clients step outside their comfort zone while keeping the exercises safe, effective, and functional.  Her main focus is to connect people to the club and to other goal-focused individuals.   

 

Hailey Chupp, ISSA Certified Personal Trainer, Certified Group Exercise Instructor

Hailey graduated from Ferris State University with her Bachelor’s degree in Applied Speech Communication with Minors in marketing and management. She has been in the fitness industry for 2 years and started at Western Racquet & Fitness Club in September 2014. She obtained her personal training certification from ISSA (International Sports Sciences Association). She has watched people close to her who have suffered because of illness mainly caused unhealthy living habits, unhealthy food consumption, and lack of knowledge about a healthy lifestyle. Her goal is to help individuals be healthy, assist them in making better choices and become their personal best.

 

Alex Awve, NSCA Certified Personal Trainer, Certified Group Exercise Instructor

Alex graduated from UW-Stevens Point with a Bachelor’s degree in Health Promotion and Wellness with a minor in Strength and Conditioning. He is a certified strength and conditioning specialist though the National Strength and Conditioning Association and is also TRX certified. Alex's personal training philosophy is based off of two principles: knowing everyone has different goals and abilities and wanting to improve on clients goals in a positive manner. Alex's fitness expertise lies in core strength and stability, manipulation of body composition, speed and agility, and explosive power/strength training.‚Äč

 

Andy Gaustad, MS, NSCA-CSCS

Andy has been in the fitness industry for the past 10 years. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from UW-Green Bay and a Master’s in Health Science from the University of Colorado where he was also an adjunct instructor for 2 years and the head strength coach at a private club. He started at Western Racquet & Fitness Club in May 2014. He has enjoyed working with athletes of all ages, which included senior citizens, youth athletes, professional football players, and Olympic and collegiate athletes. His main expertise is working on pain management, function and mobility, and assessing muscular imbalances and how to correct them.


Dan Chojnacki, NETA Certified Personal Trainer, NETA Certified Group Exercise Instructor

Dan is a graduate of UW-Green Bay with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration; he also has a minor in economics. Though his field of study was Business, Dan found a passion in the fitness industry and went on to become a NETA (National Exercise Trainers Association) Certified Personal Trainer in 2011. In 2013, he became a Certified Group Exercise Instructor (also through NETA) and has since taught a variety of classes ranging from Cardio Kickboxing to Drums Alive to Zumba. As a former athlete and coach, Dan uses the skills he has learned to push people to their full potential, listen to their goals, and promote self-confidence within his clients.

 

Casey Alger-Feser, NASM Certified Personal Trainer, Fitness Consultant

Casey began is journey studying Physical Education and Coaching at UWSP before leaving to pursue a career as a Fitness Professional. He is certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine and began training in 2014. Casey's athletic background stems from a love for playing and coaching basketball. His main focus is on building muscle and gaining confidence through exercise with his clients. He also really enjoys watching his clients achieve goals the didn't think they were capable of. 

 

Alex Tassoul, B.S. in Health & Human Performance

Alex is a graduate of UW-Whitewater with a Bachelor’s Degree in Health and Human Performance with a Minor in Criminal Justice. He has enjoyed working with athletes of all ages including youth, high school and collegiate. His passion for sports from a young age has lead to a successful collegiate career in Track and Field achieving All-American Honors and being a two-time national qualifier. His main focus is to continue to find and develop new exercises and new ways to achieve different goals. The thing that drives him the most in this field is getting the opportunity to help people live the very best life possible. 

 

Michaela Laing-Janssen 200-CYT

Michaela is a graduate from Empower Yoga's 200 hour Certified Yoga Teacher (CYT) training.  She found her passion for yoga while she was attending college at UW-Milwaukee where she found a love for the community that wanted to share their knowledge for health and wellness. Michaela has been in the yoga industry for the last two years where she then found her passion and interest in personal training.  Currently, Michaela is on her way to completing the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) personal training certificate and is extremely excited to do so. The unique aspect about Michaela's approach to personal training is that she connects yoga to the personalized workout.
